Tips For A Successful Dentist Visit
-
Practice opening wide and “counting” the teeth.
-
Read children’s books about dentistry (e.g. The Bernstein Bears Visit the Dentist).
-
Watch one of our videos or read the “Picture Book of an Appointment.”
-
Avoid using words with negative connotation such as “drill”, “pain”, “hurt”, “shot”, as your child may dwell on these images.
-
Don’t tell your child about unpleasant experiences you may have had as a youngster (you’ll be surprised at how dentistry has changed!)
